1.VW popularizes advanced parking function in 2020
VW is testing its advanced parking solution in Hamburg airport. The function is expected to be deployed on Audi, Porsche and VW models as early as 2020. The system can achieve parking automatically and navigation by recognizing image tags in the garage.

2. Waymo applies for testing completely driverless vehicles on California’s public roads
Waymo has submitted an application to California DMV to test completely self-driving cars. California’s rules approve self-driving cars without a backup driver in the car to hit the public roads for testing, but a remote operator is needed to hand over the car in emergency situation.

3.Elon Musk: Tesla will gain profit in the 3rd quarter of 2018
Tesla will be profitable in the 3rd and 4th quarter of 2018 and have positive cash flow, Elon Musk said recently, except standard credit lines, the company don’t have to raise money this year.

4.China’s startup Aiways finished its 3rd financing round
Aiways has finished its 3rd financing round led by ShaGang Group, raising over 7 billion yuan cumulatively. Its first mass-produced model, an all-electric SUV based on its MAS platform, will debut on 16th April.  

5.Luminar releases new LiDAR, reaching 5,000 units annual capacity
Luminar Technologies Inc. announced that it has rolled out a new LiDAR, which is more powerful in detecting surrounding objects and can provide images with higher definition. The company expects to assemble the sensor in only 8 minutes by the end of the year, and predicts that the annual capacity of the factory in Orlando is able to achieve 5,000 units.
